New images of the Residency Rævehaugen

The Ole Staxen Foundation is pleased to share new images of the Residency Rævehaugen by artist and photographer Torben Eskerod. The images offer a glimpse of the landscape and atmosphere that shape the residency experience and provides the setting for the artists’ work.

The Residency Rævehaugen opens in the summer of 2026

After an extensive building process, the Residency Rævehaugen is now complete, and the Ole Staxen Foundation looks forward to welcoming its first artists in the summer of 2026.

Throughout the spring, the foundation’s board has worked closely together with visual artist Søren Arildsen (b. 1996) to prepare the residency’s two studios, creating the best possible environment for the artists to live and work. Arildsen has played a central role in shaping the refuge’s physical frameworks, drawing on his extensive knowledge of materials and artistic processes.

The first artists will move in mid-June, and the Ole Staxen Foundation looks forward to welcoming them as the residency begins its first season as a place dedicated to artistic immersion and community.

The Foundation is not currently accepting applications, but you can stay updated either here or at our Facebook and Instagram.
